Ukrainian manufacturers catch up with Russia in number of kamikaze drones - Fedorov
In six months, Ukrainian manufacturers have caught up with the Russian defense industry in the number of kamikaze drones, said Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.
“In six months, we even caught up with the number of kamikaze drones. This suggests that we have formed the right policy... We have a large number of talented engineers and entrepreneurs who have united and caught up with decades of investment from two large countries,” he said in an interview for the Slon (Elephant) podcast posted on February 11.
According to the minister, kamikaze drones are a challenge for Ukraine, and in general for modern warfare.
"Our partners are watching as kamikaze drones unload air defense systems. This is a challenge in the 21st century for any air defense system. Therefore, we are helping, doing everything to speed up the defense against the Shahed drones in our country. Everyone is working on this – the Defense Forces and the General Staff. But at the same time, we are developing our own kamikaze drones in order to load the Russian air defense system,” Fedorov emphasized.
