Zelenskyy signs law to simplify procedure for writing off military property
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law simplifying the procedure for writing off military equipment lost in battle.
As noted in the card of corresponding bill No. 10039, posted on the Verkhovna Rada website, the document was returned to parliament with the signature of the head of state on February 6.
This document allows commanders of military units to write off property (except weapons) worth up to 100,000 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens (UAH 1.7 million) through a simplified procedure. The need for this is dictated by the frequent losses and damage to property during shelling.
According to the bill, the write-off of military property will be carried out by order of the commander of a military unit upon the recommendation of the commission. Commanders will make a decision on approval or refusal to approve a single act within 20 days.
This bill allows us to expand the range of write-offs of lost military property for commanders of military units, and will also eliminate the need for additional coordination of the procedure with law enforcement agencies.
