There’s new defense pact from Poland – Zelenskyy on outcome of negotiations with Tusk

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the talks with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Kyiv very productive.

“Today, we had very productive talks in Kyiv with Donald Tusk about all aspects of Ukrainian-Polish bilateral relations,” the President of Ukraine said on the Telegram channel Monday.

"There is a new Polish defense package. We appreciate such constant help. There is a new form of our cooperation for the sake of a larger scale of arms purchases for Ukrainian needs – this is a Polish loan for Ukraine," he said.

"Today we discussed with Mr. Prime Minister the possibilities of future joint production of weapons. Thank you for supporting Ukraine!" Zelenskyy also wrote.

"I just wanted to welcome you on this special day, a very symbolic day for us, and we are grateful that Poland, your society, has always been close to Ukrainians since the first days of a full-scale war," Zelenskyy said.

On Monday, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Unity.

"It was absolutely obvious and natural for me that I should first visit Kyiv in my new role as Prime Minister of Poland, for many reasons, and not just because of our solidarity and friendship," Tusk said.

"This is also my role today here in Kyiv, in Europe, in my country, to explain to all people and all leaders that the whole free world should help Ukraine in all aspects, because this is our common interest, not just a moral duty," he added.
