Zelenskyy: Ukraine, Poland to start working on agreement on security guarantees
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk discussed Poland's accession to Ukraine's security guarantees formulated by the G7 countries.
"I am grateful for the willingness to start working on a bilateral agreement between our countries. I am confident that the agreement can be very ambitious, exactly what our nations need,” Zelenskyy said a briefing in Kyiv.
“I would also like to thank you for the joint work with Poland on the Peace Formula – Poland supports global efforts and participates in relevant meetings. This is important," he noted.
Speaking about the situation on the border, Zelenskyy noted that "solidarity with Ukraine should not be destroyed because of any obstacles."
"I welcome the work of the Polish government to remove such obstacles. And we understand the depth of the reasons that led to this situation. But we pay attention, first of all, to the depth of the threat to both our peoples," he said.
According to him, “all critical issues can be resolved at the level of our governments.”
"We have much more opportunities for our peoples and the whole of Europe to increase and strengthen their energy potential. This concerns, in particular, the expansion of the relevant infrastructure of energy links between Ukraine and Poland. Our members of the government will work it all out," he said.
In his opinion, "it would be worthwhile to form a special advisory group between states, between our governments, to support Ukraine on its way to the European Union. And I'm sure: we will be together in the European Union and we will be in NATO together."
