Polish FM on Ukraine's negotiations with Russia: No shortage of ‘pocket Chamberlains’ ready to sacrifice someone else's territory for sake of their comfort

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski opposed Ukraine's inclination to negotiate with the Russian Federation, stressing that only Ukrainians can make such a decision.

"As for the negotiations, let me share with you one of the laws of Sikorski's foreign policy. There is never a shortage of pocket Chamberlains who are ready to sacrifice someone else's land or freedom for their own peace of mind. And we shouldn't do that. I'm using a risky comparison, but if a woman is being raped, it's not the best time to tell her: don't escalate the situation and negotiate. You have to come to her aid," he said at the Ukrainian Breakfast organized by the Viktor Pinchuk Foundation on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos on Thursday.

The Minister recalled the situation in the Ukrainian territories occupied by the Russian Federation, where Ukrainian citizens are tortured and Ukrainian children are stolen.

"These are the sacrifices that Ukraine is making, not we. And therefore, only Ukraine should make these decisions [on negotiations]," Sikorski stressed.
