Duda calls on intl community not to stop helping Ukraine, warns against ‘war fatigue’

Polish President Andrzej Duda calls on the international community not to stop helping and supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression, and also pointed out that war fatigue is a dangerous phenomenon that must be prevented.

"We were trying and are trying to support Ukraine, but we also continue to call on the international community, and I believe that this is my fundamentally important task. We urge you not to stop this assistance and support to Ukraine," Duda said during a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos on Wednesday.

The President stressed the importance of further support, because if one looks at the potential of the Russian Federation, both from the point of view of the economy, the number of people, as well as the size of the army of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, "it is obvious that Russia is bigger than Ukraine, bigger in all these indicators."

According to him, the fact that "Ukrainians have been able to stop the waves of the Russian offensive for two years, that they are able to repel attacks and even are able to regain part of the occupied territories, demonstrates the incredible determination and heroism of the defenders of Ukraine and the great will to survive as a nation."

"And secondly, it also shows that international support has allowed Ukraine to survive all the time, but it is needed all the time. And war fatigue, which we are talking about all the time, is a very dangerous, very risky phenomenon, and we must try to prevent it," the Polish President said.

Duda noted that Poland is well aware of what the Russian occupation and terror mean, and Poles perfectly understand the situation of their neighbors from Ukraine.
