Podoliak: Russia doesn’t need to think about how to ‘stop tragedy in Ukraine’; the only effective solution for Putin would be immediate withdrawal of his occupation forces

Russia does not need to think about how to “stop the tragedy in Ukraine”; the only effective solution for Putin would be the immediate withdrawal of his occupation forces from the sovereign territory of a foreign state, said Mykhailo Podoliak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office.

“This is how he commented on the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin via video link at the G-20 summit in India, where he, speaking about the war in Ukraine, stated “the need to think about how to stop this tragedy,” and also that the Kremlin allegedly “did not refuse from peace negotiations."

As, in turn, Podoliak emphasized, “since 2014, Russia has been exclusively engaged in the extermination of the civilian population in Ukraine, doing this deliberately and perfectly understanding the result of its genocidal actions.”

“And since February 2022, the extermination of the civilian population [by Russia] has acquired a systemic, large-scale, totally destructive nature, involving aerial bombing, rocket and artillery shelling of the entire territory of Ukraine,” he said.

“And since February 2022, the extermination of the civilian population [by Russia] has acquired a systematic, large-scale, totally destructive nature, involving aerial bombing, rocket and artillery shelling of the entire territory of Ukraine," he said.

In this regard, Russia, according to him, “has nothing to think about and nothing to think about how to “stop the tragedy in Ukraine,” since the killers who commit a deliberate crime in cold blood do not think inside it about how to stop this crime.”

“The only effective solution, the awareness of which is still beyond Putin’s mind, is to immediately withdraw the occupying Russian troops from the sovereign territory of another state. Afterwards, to the table to discuss payments, compensation and other legal consequences of the war,” said the adviser to the head of the President’s Office.

On November 22, India hosted an online summit of the Group of Twenty (G-20) countries, which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As reported, U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping did not take part in this virtual meeting.
