The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine once again called on international organizations and parliaments of the world to recognize the Holodomor of 1932–1933 in Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
Some 310 MPs voted for corresponding resolution No. 10275 on the statement of the Verkhovna Rada due to the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932–1933 in Ukraine at a plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday, member of the Holos faction Yaroslav Zhelezniak said in a Telegram channel.
According to the statement, recognition of the Holodomor of 1932–1933 by international organizations and parliaments of the world's states "will be a signal to those political regimes that want to commit new acts of genocide" and will be "a significant contribution to ensuring a peaceful and secure future for future generations."
