Zelenskyy holds first talk between Ukrainian President, leader of Sierra Leone in 20 years
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a telephone conversation with leader of Sierra Leone Julius Maada Bio on Monday.
"I have held a telephone conversation with President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio. I am glad to resume contact between our states at the highest level after a 20-year pause," Zelenskyy wrote on his Telegram.
The President of Ukraine congratulated Sierra Leone on its election to the UN Security Council for 2024-2025 and expressed hope for continued consistent support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
The interlocutors discussed the Ukrainian Peace Formula, as well as the meeting of the leaders' national security advisers in Malta and the consolidation of support for the Ukrainian vision of peace among African countries, including at regional venues.
"I told about the Grain from Ukraine initiative and invited him to the second summit, which will be held within its framework," Zelenskyy added.
