SBU confirms info about searches in reception office of MP in case of transfer of men of military age abroad

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) are conducting searches at the accomplices of the MP of Ukraine involved in the scheme of illegal travel abroad of men of military age through the Shliakh system, the SBU said on its website on Wednesday.

"According to the investigation, the member of parliament organized an illegal mechanism and used a controlled public organization to bring ‘the right people’ into the Shliakh system through it, allegedly as volunteers. It is documented that he managed to illegally smuggle his common-law wife's brother abroad," the report says.

The name of the deputy is not indicated in the message, but the circumstances of the searches and suspicion point to independent MP Dubinsky, whose searches were reported in the morning by his own source of the Interfax-Ukraine agency, and later indirectly confirmed by the deputy himself.

"According to available data, the MP kept some of the documents necessary for the escape of ‘clients’ outside Ukraine with his former assistant, a deputy of Kyiv Regional Council of the 8th convocation, as well as his close relative. Law enforcement officers are carrying out comprehensive measures to bring to justice the organizer and participants of this crime," the SBU noted.

As part of the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 2 of Article 332 (illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, searches continue at the places of work and residence of the persons involved in the scheme. Among the addresses of investigative actions is the office of a public organization, where the reception office of the MP is located.

As reported, on August 28, Dubinsky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the mandatory stay of military-bound civil servants and local government officials in military service during mobilization, and later initiated amendments to the legislation cancelling the reservation from conscription during mobilization for MPs.
