Pentagon head: USA can and will help both Ukraine, Israel
U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III, following the results of the 16th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein format), stated that the United States could and would do everything necessary to support both Ukraine and Israel.
Austin said during a briefing with Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Charles Brown that in terms of the United States' ability to continue to support efforts both in Ukraine and Israel, they can certainly do both. And they will do this. As the minister said, the United States is the strongest nation. And they are going to do whatever it takes to help their allies and partners. We will also ensure that we maintain our own capabilities to protect our interests and protect our country, the U.S. Secretary of Defense said.
Answering a question about further assistance to Kyiv in connection with the situation in Congress, the Pentagon head expressed confidence that bipartisan support for Ukraine remains.
I have told my colleagues that I am confident, based on my interactions with members of Congress, that Ukraine continues to have bipartisan support, Austin said.
He also informed his colleagues about the high level of support for Ukraine from the American people. Because Ukraine is really important, the minister added.
