A new route for the transportation of Ukrainian agricultural products may pass through the territorial waters of Bulgaria and Romania, this will help minimize the risks after Russia's unilateral withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative, Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar has said.

"Turkey's position in this situation, namely the readiness to negotiate with the Russian Federation, is the country's traditional policy in order to satisfy its interests. Turkey seeks to continue mediating services, as it, as a mediator of the grain agreement, is trying to find a 'golden mean' and minimize risks," he said on the air of the United News marathon.

According to him, the Russians may not resort to carrying out all the threats they talk about. However, the threat remains, and this affects shipping companies, insurance, etc.

"Let's be honest. Russia, having withdrawn from the agreement, stated that it does not provide security. And this means that they will shell ports, infrastructure and, possibly, ships. This is the risk," the ambassador said.

Bondar recalled that Ukraine has created a fund to ensure these risks, but there are certain conditions.

"We also have the opportunity to attract ships and companies. From our point of view, this can be fulfilled even without using this route, which has already been agreed upon, but through the territorial waters of Romania and Bulgaria. This is also a possible option to minimize risks," he explained.

At the same time, Bodnar emphasized the need for the responsibility of the international community, in order, on the one hand, to help Ukraine implement such a scenario, and on the other hand, to put pressure on Russia to prevent its possible attacks.
