Reznikov announces meeting in Ramstein format this week

Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said that a meeting of the international contact group on providing military assistance to Ukraine in the Ramstein format will be held next week.

"Strengthening air defense/missile defense remains our number one priority. Ground systems - from MANPADS to powerful batteries and missiles for them are invariably in focus. In particular, we will talk about this with colleagues at the next meeting in the Ramstein format next week," Reznikov wrote on Facebook.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine noted that Western aircraft would become an important element in protecting the Ukrainian sky.

"A modern aviation platform is exactly what we currently lack in the air defense/missile defense system to protect our peaceful cities and our soldiers at the front. Our air aces are no less skilled than the Ukrainian crews of Patriots, Irises or NASAMS. I'm sure they will do their job at the highest level," Reznikov wrote.

He also addressed the citizens of Ukraine: "The decisions on aircraft that our partners are making today are an important stage, but not the end of the road. It will take time, resources and a lot of very skilled work until our skies become safer. We must be patient," the minister noted.

"We keep the line. There will be victory," the Defense Minister concluded.
