Each day of delay in creation of tribunal on crimes of aggression costs lives of Ukrainians – Prosecutor General

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin urges the international community not to delay the creation of a special tribunal to hold the top military and political leadership of Russia accountable for crimes of aggression.

"Some of our partners are not brave enough to admit that the top military and political leadership of the Russian Federation should be punished for an act of aggression. This punishment is possible only through a special international tribunal – to punish Putin and his accomplices for aggression, which started and is still ongoing. If someone is afraid of the word 'tribunal', then the consequence of this is that Putin and his accomplices are not afraid, are not afraid of this tribunal and continue to commit such war crimes," Kostin said at a press briefing in Dnipro on Monday.

"My signal to the entire civilized world – you all know that an act of full-scale aggression against the Ukrainian people has been committed. And this aggression continues every day. And every day of delay with your decision to support the position of all Ukrainians regarding the creation of a special tribunal costs the lives of Ukrainian citizens. Therefore, be principled, be brave, support the Ukrainians and Ukraine so that not a single war criminal of the aggressor country escapes a fair punishment!" the Prosecutor General said.
