Russian soldiers who committed atrocities in Bucha being returned to Ukraine – Defense Intelligence

The 64th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 35th Combined Army of the Russian Federation, which previously occupied Bucha and committed massacres and torture of civilians, will be returned to the territory of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reports.

According to the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Russian command will not rotate personnel in this unit and again throw it to the front line.

"As of April 4, the brigade was withdrawn from Ukraine to Belarus and was located near the city of Mozyr. Until April 6, the personnel will be delivered by rail to Russian Belgorod. After a two-day rest, they plan to return to Ukraine in one of the most 'hot' spots [tentatively - Kharkiv direction]. As a rule, Russian units leaving the war zone get much more time to recover and rest," Ukrainian intelligence notes.

According to intelligence, such a schedule indicates that the 64th brigade is awaiting "special assignments" on Ukrainian territory.

"The first of them: intimidation of the inhabitants of the settlements of Ukraine. Those who committed the crimes of genocide in Bucha can repeat this again in other cities," the Defense Intelligence Agency notes.

Another goal of the rapid return of the 64th brigade to the territory of Ukraine is the rapid "elimination" of unnecessary witnesses, according to intelligence – that is, redeployment to a sector of the front where they will not have a chance to stay alive in order to prevent testifying in future courts.

"The personnel of the unit, realizing the resonance of the events in Bucha and the responsibility for the crimes committed, are massively opposed to returning to Ukraine. However, the Russian command ignores these sentiments and threatens the tribunal in case of refusal to continue participating in hostilities. Reports of dismissal are not accepted for consideration," the agency reports.

Ukrainian and international investigators are documenting numerous war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Russian army. And not a single criminal-occupier will escape due punishment.
