Tkachenko turns to Unicode consortium with request to introduce Ukrainian emojis on Apple, Android, Meta, Twitter

Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko has applied to the Unicode consortium to have special Ukrainian emojis appear on Apple, Android, Meta and Twitter platforms.

"We are Ukrainianizing messengers and social networks. After the word 'social networks' there should be a cool Ukrainian emoticon in addition to the flag, but such symbols do not yet exist. And this is despite the fact that the warmest words of support for Ukrainians are heard in almost every conversation, dialogue or text message," Tkachenko wrote in his Telegram channel.

In this regard, the minister turned to the Unicode consortium so that special Ukrainian emojis would finally appear on the Apple, Android, Meta and Twitter platforms.

"This initiative will not only help Ukraine, but also unite the world in support of the indestructible Ukrainian people," the official said.

In addition, he said that you can also support the appearance of Ukrainian emoticons by signing the corresponding petition, which was initiated by the Ministry of Culture: https://cutt.ly/8DlmEwV
