Enemy concentrates forces in eastern, southern directions, takes defense positions near Kyiv, Kharkiv – Arestovych
The situation in Ukraine remains controlled by the military-political leadership of the country, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are attacking the enemy in the areas of his concentration, Oleksiy Arestovych, the adviser to the head of the President's Office, has said.
"Now we can say that the enemy has decided on the main areas of operational efforts - firstly, the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) zone, the city of Mariupol, and the city of Mykolaiv. In Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions, the situation remains calmer, the enemy is sending some of its troops to south or east of our country, to those operational areas," Arestovych said at a briefing on Monday.
He stressed that in the north of the country and near Kharkiv, Russian troops went on the defensive.
"The enemy is on the defensive, we strike at him, and he does not take offensive actions. During the day, our Air Force worked perfectly, according to their report, and shot down at least seven enemy aircraft, of which four aircraft, two helicopters, one UAV of the operational-tactical level, and the number of cruise missiles," Arestovych said.
"The enemy struck at night in response to the cities of Ukraine, which, unfortunately, we have already become accustomed to. This is an attempt to exact revenge for the very skillful work of our Air Force, our shock units, missile forces and artillery, which delivered crushing blows again in Kherson region against the enemy, in the JFO zone and near Kyiv," he said.
