Russian air attack in Donets, Kharkiv region kills seven-year old – State Emergency Service

The operational situation in Kharkiv region as of the morning of March 9 remains tense, with the enemy continuing to strike at the residential sector and critical infrastructure.

According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Kharkiv region's State Emergency Service, Russian planes dropped at least three unguided bombs on the village of Donets in the Slobozhanske amalgamated territorial community in Kharkiv region during another air raid.

"One of them hit the foundation of a two-story private house on Didenko Street. The house collapsed instantly. Fortunately, three people managed to get out from under the rubble. Another was rescued by volunteers from the local fire brigade from the neighboring village of Andriyivka… The bodies of two people, including a seven-year-old child, in the wreckage, were found" the statement said.

In Kharkiv over the past 24 hours, rescuers, volunteers and communal workers cleared the wreckage of destroyed houses and office buildings. Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service also continued to work, neutralizing unexploded ordnance. In just one day, rescuers responded to 18 reports of fires, destruction and other emergencies.
