The Ukrainian parliament is in favor of introducing peacekeeping forces to Ukraine, Oleksandr Korniyenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, said.

According to the website of the Verkhovna Rada, one of the important decisions of the parliament today is an appeal to international organizations, foreign parliaments and governments to ensure the protection of the civilian population of Ukraine from armed attacks by Russian invaders.

"We consider it necessary to introduce peacekeeping forces to Ukraine on the basis of UN General Assembly Resolution 377 (V) 'Uniting for Peace' of November 3, 1950," the website of the parliament quoted Korniyenko as saying.

The First Deputy Chairman also recalled that the Verkhovna Rada demands the immediate introduction of a no-fly zone over the territory of Ukraine, which will protect the civilian population, world cultural heritage sites and critical infrastructure.

"We demand to open 'green corridors' for the safe evacuation of women, children and the elderly, the delivery of humanitarian aid to victims and civilians," Korniyenko added.
