Since the beginning of the day, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been killed in a grenade explosion in the Donbas, and two more servicemen have been wounded, the Joint Force Operation (JFO) press center said.

“As of 07:00, April 13, Russian-occupation forces violated the ceasefire three times, of which one shelling of the positions of the Ukrainian defenders and two of the enemy UAV crossing the contact line [...] One soldier was injured incompatible with life. Another two JFO servicemen were wounded," the JFO said on Facebook.

It is noted that the wounded soldiers were promptly provided with medical assistance and taken to a military hospital.

Thus, not far from the village of Pivdenne, the enemy opened fire from 82-caliber mortars.

The headquarters said that in the area of the settlement of Mayorske, the enemy UAVs, crossing the contact line, dropped grenades at the positions of Ukrainian units, as a result of which one soldier was wounded incompatible with life.

"The command expresses sincere and deep condolences to the family and friends of the deceased defender," the headquarters said.

The headquarters also reported an increase in the number of shelling over the past day.

"Over the past day, on April 12, in the area of the Joint Force Operation, the Russian armed formations violated the ceasefire 17 times, among which 15 were shelling of the positions of Ukrainian defenders and two were remote mining with POM-2 mines," the JFO said.
