JFO HQ reports 1 WIA amid 26 enemy attacks in Donbas over past day

Russia's hybrid military forces have mounted 26 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as wounded in action (WIA), the press centre of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has reported.

"Russian invaders opened fire on the positions of our troops 26 times. At the same time, the enemy used weapons banned by the Minsk agreements four times ... During the hostilities, one soldier of the JFO received minor injury," the JFO said on Facebook on Saturday morning.

The enemy shelled Ukrainian positions near Zolote-4, Novo-Oleksandrivka, Novozvanivka, Troyitske, Svitlodarsk, Novoluhanske, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Taramchuk, Novotroyitske, Starohnanivka, Chermalyk, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Vodiane, and Lebedynske.

"The militants resorted to 120mm mortars, 100mm artillery systems, and cannons of infantry fighting vehicles to shell our strongholds near Novoluhanske, while the defenders of Troyitske and Svitlodarsk came under fire from 82mm mortars," it says.

"Since Saturday midnight, Russian-led forces have mounted two attacks on the Joint Forces positions near the village of Shyrokyne, using heavy machine guns and small arms. No heavy weapons have been used. There have been no casualties among the Ukrainian troops," the staff said.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, two enemy troops were eliminated and another two were wounded.
