The units of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine (the State Emergencies Service and the State Border Guard Service) are extending their presence in the water areas of the Sea of Azov because of Russia's actions, Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has said.

"The Russian Federation, having occupied Crimea and part of Donbas, continues to attack our sovereignty, including within the water area of the Sea of Azov, which is why we are increasing the presence of Interior Ministry units, the subdivisions of the State Emergencies Service and the State Border Guard Service. The security of the Sea of Azov coast, our navigation is fundamentally important for us. We will not indulge the aggressive wishes of the occupation country," the minister said during the opening of a unit of diving search and rescue works in the water area of the Sea of Azov of the State Emergencies Service in Donetsk region.

According to Avakov, the unit has four floating crafts, 54 people will work there. One of the main tasks of the unit is the humanitarian demining of water objects and the rescue of citizens.

"We must ensure civil rights and inviolability of borders here, in the water areas of the Sea of Azov," the Interior Minister stressed.
