Bogdan Corporation hands over some 50 upgraded Bogdan 2251 ambulance vehicles to Armed Forces in Aug

The Bogdan Corporation in August 2018 handed over some 50 upgraded Bogdan 2251 off-road ambulance vehicles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The vehicles have been supplied since 2017 under a contract signed with the Defense Ministry of Ukraine to the combat zone in Donbas.

The press service of the corporation reported on its website last week, the Bogdan ambulance vehicles were upgraded in cooperation with military doctors in over a dozen of knots, taking into account experience of operating evacuation vehicles in the combat zone.

According to the corporation, the vehicle's interior medical section was upgraded, and protection of the front part of the vehicle was increased. The vehicle received additional flashers, the function of unblocking doors when the vehicle is running with the speed of less than 20 km per hour. The new lock mechanisms for hand frames for medical equipment of NATO standard.

"The Bogdan 2251 ambulance vehicles are maximally adapted to the needs of the front. They are able to cope with the impassability of roads and urgently evacuate the wounded to the hospital," the corporation said.

Bogdan 2251 off-road ambulance vehicles on the chassis of the GreatWall Wingle 5 are designed, taking into account modern requirements and advanced experience of giving first aid to military servicemen. Each vehicle can transport up to seven wounded persons. The designer and manufacturer of Bogdan-2251, which is intended to replace morally and technically obsolete UAZ-3962 of Russian production in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, is the subsidiary of JSC Bogdan Motors - ASZ No. 2 (Cherkasy).
