Poland stands for NATO consolidation to counter Russia aggression – MP Friz

Poland has recognized that consolidation and increasing the potential of NATO are necessary in order to counteract Russian aggression, Member of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament (Petro Poroshenko Bloc) and chairwoman of Ukraine's delegation to NATO's Parliamentary Assembly Iryna Friz has said.
The parliamentarian reported on Facebook that during the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly/Assemblée parlementaire de l'OTAN in Warsaw, Poland, Assembly President Paolo Alli noted that Russia had identified NATO as an adversary and abandoned the language of reason and cooperation and turned to the language of intimidation and threats. "We must remain united and strong in order to confront this," Friz quoted Alli as saying.
In addition, the deputy said that President of Poland Andrzej Duda in his speech noted that Russia challenges international law, defies it.
Also, according to her, the Polish president stated the need to closely monitor the aggressive actions of the Russian Federation, in particular, the Zapad (West) military exercises at the borders of Poland, the use and development of chemical weapons, the financing of terrorism. He stressed the need to provide an adequate response to these aggressive actions against democratic states, the consolidation and expansion of NATO's capabilities.
"Duda noted that Moscow does not show interest in an open and constructive dialogue which NATO is ready for," she said.
