The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has sent humanitarian aid - hygiene kits and medical supplies - to the occupied territory of Donbas, the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported on Friday.

"Eight trucks, carrying almost 82 tonnes of humanitarian cargo, including hygiene kits and medical goods from the United Nations Children's Fund have entered the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine through the Novotroyitske checkpoint," the frontier department said.

In addition, five trucks with 100 tonnes of aluminum sulphate from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) passed through this border crossing point.
