PM says ministers who tendered resignation can continue their work

The Ukrainian parliament is continuing to hold consultations on possible candidates for the posts of ministers who have tendered their resignation, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said.

"Consultations are underway. We will see what is necessary to determine the final candidates for those posts on which the ministers will be dismissed by parliament. Maybe someone will continue to work. There will be dialogue as part of the coalition. Let's see how it ends," he said at a joint briefing with Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andriy Parubiy on Monday before the beginning of a meeting of the parliament's coordinating council.

He also noted that there was only one vacant post of minister - the health minister, whose duties are performed by Ulana Suprun.

"In fact, we only have one vacant position - the acting health minister. Other ministers who decided to change their place of work have not yet been dismissed by the Ukrainian parliament," Groysman said.

As reported, Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Taras Kutoviy and Information Policy Minister Yuriy Stets handed in their resignation letters last year, but the Verkhovna Rada did not make decisions regarding their resignation.
