The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine on January 11 assigned unscheduled checks on the Inter and STB television channels for broadcasting programs with the participation of persons from the sanctions list.

At a meeting of the council on Thursday, January 11, a unanimous decision was taken to conduct on-site unscheduled inspections of the TV channels on the basis of monitoring recording the broadcasting on Inter and STB of programs with the participation of persons included by the Ukrainian Culture Ministry in the list of persons who threaten Ukraine's national security.

In particular, the programs were attended by Oleg Tabakov (a Soviet and Russian actor and artistic director) and Valentina Talyzina (a Soviet and Russian film and stage actress).

The council decided to study in detail the broadcasting of programs bearing signs that are not allowed to be broadcast on Ukrainian territory and will take respective decisions after unscheduled inspections.

In addition, the council decided to conduct an unscheduled inspection of the Russkoe Radio Ukraine television and radio company on the basis of monitoring, which recorded on the air of the radio company an insufficient number of programs broadcast in the state language.
