TCG discusses ceasefire regime violations in Donbas via Skype

Trilateral meeting of the contact group (TCG) on Monday in a video conference has discussed the situation with shelling in Donbas. The Ukrainian side has pointed to the growing number of attacks by illegal armed formations, spokesperson of Ukrainian representative in the TCG Leonid Kuchma, Darka Olifer has said.

"A key theme of the Skype meeting is ceasefire violation. The Ukrainian side focused on the increasing number of attacks that recently occurred. ORDLO (occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions) representatives shot most of all at Shyrokyne, Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka and Stanytsia Luhanska. These violations of the ceasefire regime have been confirmed by the OSCE SMM (Special Monitoring Mission)," Olifer wrote on her Facebook page.

The Ukrainian side also brought up the issue of the situation near Stanytsia Luhanska: "During the meeting via Skype the Ukrainian side noted its stance on shellings of Stanytsia Luhanska on the part of the CALR representatives, which were carried out on December 9-10, 2016. This shelling is the evidence of the CALR's reluctance to fulfill the assumed obligations in withdrawal of forces and equipment in this sector."

In addition to that, the Trilateral Contact Group once again called on CALR representatives to unblock the operations of the Zolote checkpoint.
