EU Ambassador to Ukraine expects continuation of reforms in economy, justice, social security

Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli expects the continuation of reforms in the country in the field of economy, justice and social security.
He said in his view over last two years this government and the president, and former head of the government, Mr. Yatsenyuk have managed to achieve significant results. They managed to stabilize the macro financial situation, he said. I do not know so many countries where the budget deficit was reduced from 11% to 3%, he said at a press conference in Kyiv.
He noted significant reforms were carried out in many areas but they need to be continued.
The EU official said now it is needed to work on structural reforms starting with the pension reform, which, according to many observers, is not yet viable.
According to him, it is necessary to conduct an open and honest privatization, reform the management of public enterprises, reform land relations, the energy sector and clean out the banking system.
