One Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman has been killed and another one has been wounded in Donbas in the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's spokesman for the army operation in Donbas Andriy Lysenko said.

"One serviceman has been killed and another one has been wounded over the past 24 hours. It happened when they hit an explosive device in Troyitske at the Svitlodarsk arc," he said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Sunday.

Ten militants were also confirmed as killed and another four as wounded, Lysenko said.

"The adversary's units suffered these losses in the Luhansk district and near the city of Mariupol," he said.

All in all, Ukrainian military positions in the Luhansk region have come under fire 16 times in the past 24 hours, including seven strikes involving heavy weapons, he said.

The past 24 hours saw the heaviest fighting in the Luhansk region's Popasna district, where an escalation of the conflict can be observed, Lysenko said.

Another provocation was staged in Krymske, he said, adding that the situation at other sectors of the frontline in the Luhansk region was quiet.

The Donetsk region saw a relatively small number of strikes on Saturday, but these strikes were quite lengthy. Fighting was underway in several places, including the Svitlodarsk arc, near the town of Horlivka, in the Avdiyivka industrial zone and north of it. Militant forces used 82mm mortars and armored hardware, Lysenko said.

DPR militants opened fire five times, including three times using heavy weapons, in the Donetsk region in the past day, he said.

Fighting continues in the same places near the city of Mariupol as in previous days - Maryinka, near Starohnativka and the Pavlopil-Shyrokyne sector of the frontline. However, the number of strikes has seriously grown, and militant forces regularly use heavy weapons, Lysenko said.

"The most complicated situation is in Shyrokyne. In particular, enemy mortar strikes continued there for more than four hours even at daytime. The adversary used not only mortars, but also 122mm cannons in Vodiane. Krasnohorivka, where the situation has been recently quiet, also came under enemy mortar fire," he said.

A total of 27 strikes of Ukrainian positions by the militants were recorded near the city of Mariupol in the past day, including ten strikes involving heavy weapons, Lysenko said.
