Ukraine, Russia foreign chiefs discuss ban of Mejlis, Donbas, political prisoners

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has reported that in a course of a telephone talk with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov the a ban of Mejlis of Crimean Tatars, Ukrainian citizens, who are illegally detained in Russia, as well as the situation in Donbas, was discussed.

"Sergei Lavrov and I talked about political prisoners in Russia, the situation in Donbas and the ban of Mejlis," he wrote on Twitter.

Previously, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Lavrov and Klimkin "discussed the implementation of the Minsk Agreements and a number of issues pertaining to bilateral relations following up on the telephone conversation between the Russian and Ukrainian presidents on April 18."
