Opposition Bloc, Vidrodymo movement suggest Rada scheduling elections in several areas of Donbas on April 24

MPs from Opposition Bloc faction and Vidrodymo, or Vidrodzhennya (Revival) Ukrainy movement have suggested holding of the local elections in 108 residential areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which are controlled by Ukraine and where the elections didn't take place last autumn, for April 24, 2016.

The respective draft document No.3780 was registered in Verkhovna Rada on January 18, the parliament said on its website.

The resolutions of the Central Election Commission (CEC) as of August 29, 2015 named 91 residential areas of Donetsk region and 31 populated areas of Luhansk region, where it was impossible to carry next elections scheduled by the parliament on October 25, 2015.

The explanatory note to the document says that the mentioned residential areas do not considered as temporarily occupied territories in compliance with law of Ukraine.

As reported, there were local elections in Ukraine on October 25, 2015.
