Four Ukrainian servicemen wounded in Donbas over past day – Kyiv

Four Ukrainian servicemen have suffered injuries in the army operation zone in Donbas over the past day; no one has been killed, Ukrainian Presidential Administration spokesman for the army operation Oleksandr Motuzianyk said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

"None of our servicemen have died over the past day but four comrades-in-arms suffered injuries," he said.

Ukrainian army positions came under 120mm mortar fire near Popasna in the Luhansk region. Several shells hit residential areas, Motuzianyk said.

The enemy fired small arms and grenade launchers on the outskirts of Horlivka, including Mayorsk, Dzerzhynsk and Novhorodske, and sniper activity was observed in that area. Ukrainian positions came under attack from BMP-2 weapons and a ZU-23-2 air defense launcher near Verkhniotoretske," the Ukrainian Presidential Administration spokesman continued.

"Tensions flared on the western outskirts of Donetsk, in the area from Avdiyivka to Maryinka," Motuzianyk said, adding that gunfire continued all day long and intensified after dusk.

"However, the enemy did not use heavy weapons on those lines," he said.

Two provocations by use of small arms were observed near Shyrokyne in the Mariupol sector, Motuzianyk said.
