Ukraine Contact Group to continue discussing local election terms in Minsk on Oct 27 - source
Members of the trilateral Contact Group for Ukraine will meet in the Belarusian capital Minsk on October 27 to continue discussing the conditions for holding the local elections in certain districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as the terms of international humanitarian aid access to these districts, a source in the group organizing the talks told Interfax.
"On the whole, the agenda remains the same. The sides will continue looking for a compromise on the conditions for holding the local elections in certain districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The most contentious topics here are the conditions for media work, as well as the principles of candidates' nomination and participation [in the elections]," he said.
In addition to that, the Contact Group's humanitarian sub-group will continue to discuss the conditions for exchanges of captives and international humanitarian aid access to these districts.
"The humanitarian sub-group will once again discuss the conditions that would make it possible for international organizations to deliver humanitarian aid to these individual districts. The issue of exchanges of captives remains on the agenda as well," the source added.
