UNESCO Executive Board supports Ukraine's initiative on monitoring of situation in Crimea

UNESCO Executive Board has approved a Ukraine-proposed decision on the monitoring of the situation in Crimea.

"On October 14, within the framework of the 197th session of the Executive Board of UNESCO (October 7-22, 2015) at a meeting of the Program and External Relations Commission decision on monitoring the situation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Ukraine) was approved. It was initiated by Ukraine in collaboration with twelve member-countries of the organization's executive board. "The draft decision was supported in writing by 26 of the 28 EU Member States (except Malta and Croatia), as well as Canada, Norway, the U.S., Turkey, Switzerland and Japan," the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine on Thursday.
