Ukrainian NSDC head, NATO chief discuss steps to improve Ukrainian laws on national security

Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg have discussed the steps required to improve Ukrainian legislation on national security.

"The parties have devoted much of their attention to the issue of improving Ukrainian legislation on national security and defense, and reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and law-enforcement agencies," the NSDC's press service reported on Tuesday.

They also touched upon issues of security and defense cooperation between Ukraine and NATO.

Turchynov in particular stressed that Ukraine is interested in deeper cooperation with NATO and "has made its civilized choice on the path to the European Union and the [NATO] Alliance."
