Donetsk regional prosecutor's office qualifies shelling of Mariupol outskirts as terrorist attack

On the night of August 16-17, militants of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) shelled the outskirts of Mariupol in Donetsk region, including the towns of Sartana and Ledebynsky, killing two civilians and injuring six.

According to the press service of Donetsk regional prosecutor's office, a criminal proceeding has been opened after the shelling of Mariupol, which has been qualified as a terrorist attack. The region's prosecutor's office is in charge of the investigation.

According to the prosecutor's office, the shelling killed a man and a young woman. Another six residents were injured including a 10-year old child. Over 50 residential houses were damaged. Exact information on the devastation and victims is still to be confirmed.
