Ukrainian defense industry uses 5-10% of its production capacity - Pashynsky

Head of the Verkhovna Rada committee on national security and defense Serhiy Pashynsky has noted a low level of weapons modernization and providing them to the Ukrainian army.
"The state of providing our armed forces after a year and a half of Russian aggression, modernization, and weapons overhauls are extremely low," he said at a round table in Kyiv.
Pashynsky noted that the system of security sector management is too bureaucratic.
"The defense industry that includes more than 100 enterprises uses 5-10% of its production capacity," he said.
According to him, in the context of the military and industrial complex functioning the profile parliamentary committee is preparing a bill to "de-monopolize this area."
Pashynsky explained that to reflect tank threat from Russia it is necessary to develop systems of managed anti-tank weapons.
"There are such systems, they need to be delivered to the army," the deputy said, noting that the process is "sluggish."
