Tagliavini successor in Contact Group promises to follow her example in work on conflict settlement in eastern Ukraine
Austrian diplomat Martin Sajdik, who is considered to be a successor to Heidi Tagliavini in the post of OSCE representative at the Contact Group on Ukraine, has promised to continue her work aimed at resolving the situation in Donbas.
Sajdik, who is in Moscow on Monday, said he intends to follow Tagliavini's example and continue her work because everyone should work for the good of those people being hurt by this conflict.
The Austrian diplomat said he plans a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin. He said he plans to discuss with him his future work as OSCE representative at the Contact Group on Ukraine and is hoping the conversation will be a good one.
Responding to a question from Interfax regarding the settlement plans in eastern Ukraine, Sajdik said it is too early to speak about it because he has not been appointed yet, adding he expects to be appointed today.
