Cabinet scraps Ukraine-Russia agreement on quality controls on military supplies

The Cabinet of Ministers has scrapped the Ukraine-Russia inter-governmental agreement on quality control on supplies to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Russia.

Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak announced the decision after the government's meeting on Wednesday.

The aforementioned inter-governmental agreement was signed in August 1997 and came into force in November of the same year. It concerned armaments, military equipment, military property, component parts, scientific-technical goods, services and jobs.

Quality controls on products foresaw testing to determine if production met necessary requirements.

The agreement was originally signed for a five year term.
