Yatseniuk orders civil claim against BRSM-Nafta owners for compensation
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has instructed the Emergency Service, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Justice to prepare a civil claim to compensate damage caused by the illegal activities of the owners of BRSM-Nafta in connection with the fire at its oil depot in Kyiv region.
"You jointly the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Justice should prepare and file a civil claim to compensate the total amount of losses made to the state in connection with the illegal activities of BRSM-Nafta owners, which resulted in a fire and making damage to the state in the amount determined by appropriate forensics," he said at a meeting of the commission on technogenic and ecological safety and emergencies in Kyiv.
When asked about the amount of losses caused by the BRSM-Nafta fire, Emergency Service Head Mykola Chechotkin said "if to take in general, given the payment of all expenses and reimbursement to the families of victims, it is about UAH 50 million, somewhere UAH 47-48 million."
