Rada suspends accreditation of some Russian media at Ukrainian govt agencies

The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada passed a resolution on Thursday to suspend the accreditation of journalists and technical staff working for some Russian media outlets at Ukrainian government agencies.

The resolution was supported by 239 MP’s

The resolution stipulates that the suspension of the accreditation of journalists and other staff, i.e. producers, camera operators, etc., of some Russian media outlets will be in force until the conclusion of military operations in eastern Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Security Service is to urgently draw up a list of Russian media outlets whose members' accreditation will be suspended, in line with the Rada resolution.

The parliament instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to compile the accreditation rules for journalists and technical staff working for foreign media outlets within a month after the resolution comes into force.

The resolution comes in effect on the day it is approved.
