Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili will soon pay an official visit to Ukraine, Georgian Foreign Ministry spokesperson David Kereselidze said at a press briefing on Monday.

"The visit date is so far unknown because the [new] Ukrainian government has yet to be approved. But it will be a summit-level visit involving Georgian government members and we are expecting to discuss every essential issue in the bilateral relationship," Kereselidze said.

Political consultations between foreign ministries were held in Kyiv on November 27 to make plans for Georgia-Ukraine cooperation, he remarked.

A number of Western media outlets claimed last week that former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who is currently wanted by the Georgian Prosecution Service on several charges, might be offered the possibility of joining the Ukrainian cabinet as a deputy prime minister.
