Ukrainian cheese makers falsify products - watchdog

1 min read

The Russian consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor has serious grievances about a number of Ukrainian dairy producers, Rospotrebnadzor acting chief Anna Popova told Interfax on Monday.

"The violations are serious," she said.

On Monday, the Russian sanitary service banned imports of cheese from six Ukrainian suppliers.

"Regrettably, we have to acknowledge that the Ukrainian products have recently become high-risk in terms of sanitary and epidemiological requirements and their compliance with the consumer rights protection legislation," Popova said.

"We have been talking about it for a number of years. Regrettably, no homework has been done. Again we are talking about violations by a number of Ukrainian producers of the consumer rights protection legislation and product falsification," Popova said.
