The Regions Party is planning to hold a convention in Kyiv on March 29, the faction leader in the parliament Oleksandr Yefremov has said.

"The convention is supposed to be held on March 29. This date was chosen during the last sitting of the presidium," he said during the briefing after the meeting of the Parliamentary Conciliatory Council.

According to Yefremov, the convention is to be held in Kyiv.

At the same time, when asked by Interfax-Ukraine about whether the Regions Party was going to put forward a candidate for the presidency, the faction leader said, "As for nominating a candidate, it was discussed at the presidium meeting. Yes, there will a candidate from our political party. Although what decision will be made at the convention is something you'll find out later."

As reported earlier, convention of the Regions Party was scheduled for March 15 and then moved to March 22. But last week, MP Mykhailo Chechetov said that the convention was planned for March 29 and would be, apparently, held in Kyiv. The MP said the rescheduling of the event was connected with with "serious preparation for the convention."
