About a dozen protestors detained, Interior Ministry reports

About a dozen protestors who have attacked police officers in Kyiv have been detained, the Interior Ministry's media liaison office has reported.

"Two out of the detained have already been identified. One of them is a 30-year-old Kyivan from the Svoboda party. The young man has a record of several administrative offences in the form of disorderly conduct. The second detainee is a 41-year-old man whose nickname is Cherep [Death's Head] with a criminal record and 13-year imprisonment for a murder. According to preliminary information, the man is involved in the Patriot of Ukraine organization," the source said.

Criminal proceedings under Article 294 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - riots- have been launched on the fact of clashes with the police on Hrushevskoho Street in Kyiv.

Active participants in attacks on police officers are detained and taken into police custody.
