Cox, Kwasniewski still hope for signing of Ukraine-EU Association Agreement at Vilnius Summit

Observers of the European Parliament monitoring mission, former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski and former European Parliament President Pat Cox, have said they still hope that Ukraine will sign the Association Agreement with the European Union at the forthcoming Eastern Partnership Summit.

"We haven't lost hope," Kwasniewski said after the meeting with former Premier Yulia Tymoshenko in the Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 in Kharkiv on Friday.

Asked whether the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement will be signed at the Vilnius summit, he said: "Not yet, because the government said that it isn't ready yet, but there are several days left until Vilnius."

However, according to Kwasniewski, Ukraine hasn't fulfilled the conditions necessary to sign Association Agreement yet.

The EP representatives also talked to the supporters of Tymoshenko, who thanked the European officials for assistance and the work they've done.

As a correspondent of Interfax-Ukraine reported, the European politicians spent nearly half-an-hour in Tymoshenko's ward.
