Small rally against suspended preparations for association agreement signing continues in Kyiv

A protest against the Ukrainian government's decision to suspend preparations for the signing of an association agreement with the European Union continued in Independence Square in the center of Kyiv all through the night.

No public order offences were registered during the action, which involved several hundred people.

Aт Interfax-Ukraine correspondent said that some 100 people currently stay in the square.

The Kyiv police have called on the demonstrators to display tolerance and not to break laws.

No plans to suppress the rally were discussed, Interfax has been told.

Up to 2,000 people, including opposition leaders Arseniy Yatseniuk, Vitali Klitschko, Oleh Tiahnybok and other parliamentarians, gathered in Independence Square on Thursday evening to protest against the Ukrainian government's decision to suspend preparations for a trade deal with the EU.
