Relatives of fish men killed in Azov Sea to receive pecuniary aid, says Arbuzov

First Vice Premier Serhiy Arbuzov has said that in the near term a decision to pay pecuniary aid to relatives of Ukrainian fish men killed after a collision of a Ukrainian fishing vessel and a Russian patrol board in the Azov Sea.

“Today, the process has not been finished. We continue working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. Negotiations are underway, and in the near term the decision to pay pecuniary aid to relatives of the victims will be made,” Arbuzov said in Ukrainian parliament on Friday, September 6.

As reported, a Ukrainian fishing vessel and a Russian patrol board collided in the Sea of Azov off the coast of the Russian village of Vorontsovka on July 17, 2013.

The fishing boat overturned and as a result four Ukrainians died and one survived. The Ukrainian survivor, Oleksandr Fedorovych, underwent surgery in a Yeysk hospital in Russia's Krasnodar territory on July 19.
