The issue of pumping Russian gas into Ukraine's underground gas storage facilities will be raised at a meeting of Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in Sochi on July 12, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytsky said.

"The issue of pumping gas into underground storage facilities will be discussed during the talks in Sochi," he told reporters in Kyiv on Thursday.

When asked if Kyiv will insist on an advance payment by Russia for pumping gas into Ukraine's underground storage facilities, the minister said: "We will not insist, we will negotiate. We cannot insist, we need to reach a compromise and listen to each other."

Azarov and Medvedev will hold a meeting in Sochi on July 12 with the participation of Ukrainian ministers in charge of economic matters.
